Neutrogena Skin Detox Glycolic Acid Facial Cleansing Gel/Mask

Last updated:

This product’s formulation is comparable to high-end products! It is a value-for-money product as well. Even though it claims to have glycolic acid, the quantity of glycolic acid is minimal, and the percentage of salicylic acid is more significant. I believe the two acids are well balanced in the formula. It is sensible to include kaolin and bentonite for extra skin cleansing. The glycerine keeps the skin moisturised, while the glycolic and salicylic acids exfoliate the skin. The acids’ effect is not very pronounced since it does not stay on the skin for long, but it is ideal to incorporate these ingredients in an affordable cleansing product.

Suitable for everyone’s skin. If you have sensitive skin and are allergic to perfume or any other ingredient, it’s useful to test the product before using it. You can apply it two times a day, morning and night. I prefer to put it on in the morning as it makes me feel refreshed. It can function as both a cleanser and a face mask. I usually use it to cleanse my face.

Key Ingredients:

  • Glyserine: (moisture attractant, humectant, one of the best moisturizers)
  • Kaolin: A mineral with a high content of kaolinite. It is an ideal clay that can be used for all skin types.
  • Bentonite: a volcanic clay that has the ability to attract heavy metals, bacteria and toxins with positively charged molecules thanks to its electromagnetic negatively charged molecules.
  • Panthenol: Vitamin B5, a very good moisturizer
  • Salicylic Acid: BHA acid. It is a fat soluble acid. It dissolves the oil in the pore and allows the pores to be cleaned.
  • Glycolic Acid: AHA. Removes the uppermost layers of dead skin cells. Skin brightener.
